Jr. EngineerGirl Club:

Immersive Hands-on STEM program

A problem I noticed in my community was the lack of girls interested in STEM and robotics, I created a year-round, immersive, hands-on program dedicated to encourage young girls – particularly those with little access to engineering – to explore careers in STEM Fields.

The Jr. Engineer Girls Club participants conducted experiments, wrote simple codes using Micro-bits, built squishy circuits, made bristle bots, and learned from professionals while all building lifelong skills.

TReasure Mountain:

Fine Motor Skill Puzzle tOY

For this project, my team and I created a toy that provides sensory input and stimulation all while allowing a child to practice their fine motor skills in a fun and engaging way.

Treasure Mountain was especially designed for children to practice gross and fine motor skills as well as exercise problem-solving. The objective of the user is to explore the mountain and find the buried treasure inside. In the process, the user will contend with a series of layers and puzzles that get progressively more difficult.

DinoGuard:

Personal Safety Protection Unit

For this project, I was tasked with designing and creating a hand-operated controller (a.k.a. a remote) for a user group of my choice, this could be fictional or non-fictional group. The remote needed to control a related set of tasks through the manipulation of several physical inputs by the user. The goal was to create a remote that is well designed with respect to manufacturability, interaction, and emotional appeal. I decided to choose my theme and scenario as “Jurassic Park”

My solution is DinoGuard, your personal protection remote to ward of dino’s and keep you safe from the dangers of the island.

Mathmonster:

Interactive Arithmetic Equation Board

MathMonster was inspired by the desire to help elementary school students who are struggling with basic arithmetic. My team and I recognized the frustration and overwhelming feelings these students experience, despite the best efforts made by their teachers. Seeing this issue in our community motivated us to create a better learning experience for foundational skills.

This product will allow a student to form equations to solve, as well as practice their math comprehension.

Istand:

Re-engineered stand for imac

In undertaking this project, my primary objective was to devise a solution that grants iMac users the flexibility to seamlessly transition between a wall-mounted configuration and a desktop setting, all without the necessity of visiting an Apple store.

The iStand is constructed from 3 intricately interconnected parts: the base, leg, and head mount. These elements harmoniously come together, forming a unified and sturdy stand.

Stained Glass window:

Light-up Interactive Display

For this project, I was tasked with creating a Keepsake Design item that would remind me of Rose after graduation. I thought back to the events and activities I have done and couldn’t help but have fond memories of my school’s homecoming bonfire. This was a night when alumni and current students came together, united in celebration. The bonfire, with its warmth and light, symbolized the spirit of the school and the sense of community that defined my time at Rose.

I knew I wanted to capture this in my keepsake design while also integrating my passion for art and creation. It is here that I decided to try a new art form by creating a stained-glass piece.

Backboard Bully:

Personal Self-esteem Builder

A problem my team and I noticed is that more often than not, Basketball players of all skill levels lack an affordable and reliable way to work on scoring goals while simulating a realistic in-game atmosphere and stress, including the feedback from bystanders regarding the quality of their play.

My team’s solution was to create “BackBoard Bully”, a user-friendly innovative system that helps players to overcome the fear and intimidation of the crowd jeers and insults towards them.

FLAVOR AROUND THE WORLD:

Friendly Food App for travelers

For this project, My team and I were tasked with designing and coding an application in Java that would be localized to a particular culture. We chose Russia as our targeted culture for whom we would be making the app for.

Our app, “Flavor around the World” allows users to input any food restrictions into the system so that the local dishes they are recommended are allergen-friendly, and thus do not include any ingredients of the things they cannot eat. The app will then take the users preferences, likes/dislikes and other information and generate a list of foods that is geared towards the user specifically.
